Counting your successes
Have you ever tried to write down you successes? Really sat down and start thinking backwards on what you've been good at?
When I listen to people, they mostly tell about negative memories. How something went wrong for them. And without realising why, they feel the worse for it. Maybe it is because we do love a bit of drama in our lives. And usually that drama is negative because we tend to remember situations with strong emotions best. And oh boy those past negative events caused strong feelings!
Now I don't know if there is a word for "positive drama". But do try to think of a success you had in the past, and write it down. In as much detail as you can, as this will reawaken the emotions attached to that success.
It could be a good grade you got. Or getting that new home. Being applauded at work. A painting you made. A book you wrote... Anything you consider a success.
They don't need to be in chronological order. Trust that your subconsciousness will pop just the right memory for you to concentrate on at that moment. And then write away.
